Youth, Journalism & Digital Media

Throughout the year Radio Arte offers the Journalism and Digital Media training program for youth ages 14-24, in 3 separate cohorts. Take a look at the schedule of training for this tuition-free program:

Radio Summer Camp (ages 14-18)

In the summer of 2009 Radio Arte partnered with After School Matters (ASM) for the first time to offer youth paid opportunities for learning about radio and journalism during the summer. Pending the approval of Radio Arte’s participation in ASM, we would like to offer this opportunity in the Summer of 2010 once again.

During this 6-week program, participants will be introduced to community radio and digital sound editing. More details will be posted as they become available, but it is a 5-day, 20-hour/ week program.

One year Training Program (16-24)

Radio Arte offers a one-year, cost-free, training program in journalism, digital media, and community radio. The program is divided in to 3 parts comprised of workshops, live participation in on-air public affairs programs, and individual projects focused on community media.

Throughout the year we offer two opportunities for training. Youth ages 16-20 begin classes in  November, and youth 19-24 participate in classes in February (19-20 year old can chose which program they would like to participate in). Participants are expected to commit to a schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays (in English) or Mondays and Wednesdays (in Spanish), from 5:00 – 7:30 pm.

Applications for 19-24 cohort are due January 22nd, and the class is set to begin on February 22nd, 2010. Check back for updates on future deadlines and details on schedule of other classes.

Talleres Para Adultos

Periodicamente Radio Arte ofrece talleres para todas las edades, en producción, locución y más. Estos talleres tienen un costo. Para más información sobre estas, favor de mandar un correo electrónico a talleres@radioarte.org o llamando  al (312) 455-9455 x115.

Estamos reclutando personas para nuestros talleres de producción de audio y locución con operación de consola. Estos iniciaran a finales de febrero 2010. Los cursos se desarollan los sábados por espacio de 4 semanas. Favor de seguir los enlaces para llenar su applicación y encontraran mayores detalles sobre cada taller, incluyendo el costo del mismo.
